Samsung Social Service Privacy Notice

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., along with our affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively, “Samsung”), respects your concerns about privacy. We created this Privacy Notice to make sure you understand how we collect and use your personal information in connection with Samsung Social. This Privacy Notice does not apply to information collected by other apps, websites, or services provided by Samsung.

The Samsung Privacy Policy for the U.S. at https://account.samsung.com/membership/pp (“Samsung Privacy Policy”) also applies to your use of Samsung Social. Our Samsung Privacy Policy contains more information about how we use and share your data, and the choices available to you regarding our use of the information. It also includes information about how to contact us. Please read our Samsung Privacy Policy in addition to this Privacy Notice. In the event of a conflict between the Samsung Privacy Policy and this Privacy Notice, this Privacy Notice shall prevail.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Through Samsung Social, we may obtain information about you in various ways.

Information You Provide Directly

Samsung Social may collect information from you directly. For example:

• Information stored in or associated with your Samsung account (including your Samsung account profile, ID, username, phone number, email address, company, and status message).

Information About Your Use of Samsung Social

In addition to the information you provide, we may automatically collect information about your use of Samsung Social through software on your devices and by other means. We may collect:

• When you share files or someone shares files with you through Samsung Social, such as a photo, calendar, or note, we collect information about what is being shared and with the sender and recipient.

• Information about your contacts, such as their names, email addresses, phone numbers, company information, status messages, and birthdays, as well as information related to groups of contacts you create, edit, or delete.

• Device information: Your hardware model, device hardware information, IMEI number and other unique device identifiers, phone number, serial number, sales code, access recording, current software version, MCC (Mobile Country Code), MNC (Mobile Network Code), operating system versions, and settings of the devices you use to access Samsung Social.

• Log information: Diagnostic, technical, error, and usage information such as the time and duration of your use of Samsung Social.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?

We may use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To help register you or your device in Samsung Social.
• To provide Samsung Social, such as sharing files, creating, editing, and deleting groups, or providing features using your profile information and contacts.
• To analyze our products and services to help us better understand our customers in order to offer the most relevant communications, services and experiences to you.
• To ask you for your opinions on our products and services and to carry out customer surveys, with your separate consent if required.
• To provide software updates, maintenance services and support for Samsung Social.
• To protect against, identify and prevent fraud and other criminal activity, claims and other liabilities.
• To comply with and enforce applicable legal requirements, relevant industry standards and our policies, including this Privacy Notice and Samsung Privacy Policy.

We may use and combine the information we collect about you from Samsung Social with data from other services or features you use, for example you can choose to share files from your Calendar through Samsung Social with other Samsung Social users.
